Jordan to host emergency conference on Gaza humanitarian response
With participation of Egypt, UN on June 11, conference seeks to identify ways to bolster international response to humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza

ISTANBUL (AA) - Jordan said Friday that it will host an emergency international conference on June 11 with the participation of Egypt and the UN to address the urgent humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless Israeli attacks for nearly eight months.
“Jordan will host an emergency international conference on the urgent humanitarian response for Gaza on 11 June, co-organized by Jordan, Egypt, and the United Nations,” the Kingdom’s Royal Court said in a statement.
“The conference seeks to identify ways to bolster the international community’s response to the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip,” the statement added.
The statement noted that the conference also aims to “outline effective measures and procedures, as well as operational and logistical needs for this purpose, while seeking commitment for a collective coordinated response to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza.”
Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza following the Oct. 7 Hamas incursion, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
More than 36,280 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, mostly women and children, and over 82,000 others injured, according to local health authorities.
Nearly eight months into the Israeli war, vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which in its latest ruling has ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its operation in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
