AMMAN (AA) – The Jordanian Armed Forces on Saturday denied involvement in the airstrikes conducted by the US in Iraq, state news agency Petra reported.
Petra cited a military source denying reports that suggested Jordan participated in airstrikes on Iraq, labeling them “unfounded.”
The source, according to the news agency, said that the Jordanian army respects Iraq’s sovereignty.
“The Armed Forces' General Command also advised the public to ignore rumors circulating on social media and to seek information from official channels, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and accurate dissemination of information,” it added.
The US began to carry out a wave of airstrikes Friday against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)-Quds Force and Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Syria after a drone attack killed three American troops in Jordan late last month.
