Josh D’Amaro named Disney’s new CEO

Chairman of Disney Experiences appointed new CEO, set to succeed Bob Iger on March 18

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Walt Disney Company announced Tuesday that it named Josh D’Amaro, who is the chairman of Disney Experiences, as its next CEO, succeeding Bob Iger.

The appointment will take effect at Disney's annual meeting on March 18. Iger will remain as a board member and senior advisor until his retirement on Dec. 31, according to a statement.

"Josh D’Amaro is an exceptional leader and the right person to become our next CEO,” said Iger.

“He has an instinctive appreciation of the Disney brand, and a deep understanding of what resonates with our audiences, paired with the rigor and attention to detail required to deliver some of our most ambitious projects. His ability to combine creativity with operational excellence is exemplary and I am thrilled for Josh and the company," he added.

Disney said with 185,000 cast members and employees worldwide, and $36 billion in revenue in 2025, D'Amaro, a 28-year Disney veteran, is the head of the company's largest business segment.

D'Amaro has led the segment to unprecedented levels of guest satisfaction, creativity and financial success, according to the statement.
