ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish modular building manufacturer Karmod has installed container office units at a geothermal energy site in Dominica, a Caribbean island nation, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
The offices were set up near the capital city Roseau and will serve as administrative facilities for a 10-megawatt binary geothermal power plant currently under development, according to the company.
Speaking on the project, Karmod Container Sales Manager Ozay Kemal Karakucuk said the company continues to provide modular construction solutions for mining and energy projects across the globe.
“Our container structures are preferred as permanent office solutions in mining and energy sites due to their durability and ergonomic design,” Karakucuk said. “They are produced with special insulation systems, making them suitable for all climate zones and ideal for long-term use.”
Karakucuk added that the mobile nature of Karmod’s containers allows them to be easily relocated using cranes, providing a flexible and damage-free solution in dynamic work environments.
The Dominica project comprises 12 flatpack container units with a total area of 168 square meters. The modular units were shipped in disassembled form and installed on-site within one week.
Karmod’s modular buildings are widely used in construction mobilization projects, including dormitories, dining halls and offices, the company said.
