ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish manufacturing company Karmod announced on Friday that it exported 14 plastic silo storage tanks to a pharmaceutical company in Zurich, Switzerland.
The shipment to the Swiss company, which specializes in the production of medicinal and aromatic plants, includes 14 polyethylene plastic silos, which will be used in the pharmaceutical industry.
Talay Ozturk, general manager of Karmod Plastic Group, stated that plastic silo storage tanks with food safety characteristics are becoming increasingly popular in the food and pharmaceutical industries throughout Europe.
"One of the key advantages of our plastic silo storage tanks is their resistance to rust, a common issue with metal tanks. Their lightweight construction, combined with their durability and resistance to corrosion, ensures a long lifespan," Ozturk said.
He highlighted that the use of polyethylene in the conical design of the silos reduces the load on the support legs, further extending the life of the silos.
Additionally, Ozturk said the smooth surface of the conical tanks ensures optimal flow, facilitating the complete discharge of both liquid and dry materials.
"Our polyethylene plastic silos are widely used in the industry for storing chemicals and liquids, thanks to their many advantages. These silos are highly valued for their food safety and are frequently chosen for use in the food and pharmaceutical sectors in Europe," he added.
Ozturk also mentioned the wide range of storage capacities offered by Karmod’s plastic silos.
"We produce closed-top silo tanks with capacities ranging from 1,000 to 20,000 liters, while our open-top silos range from 1,000 to 2,000 liters," he said.
The recent shipment to Switzerland includes nine silos with a capacity of 3 tons and five silos with a capacity of 5 tons. The 14 silos including support legs were transported to Zurich on two trucks.
