ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish manufacturer Karmod has exported stainless steel water storage tanks with a total capacity of 220,000 liters to Iraq, the company announced on Friday.

A total of 22 stainless steel water tanks, each with a capacity of 10,000 liters, were shipped to Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, according to the statement.

“We are witnessing the positive effects of Türkiye’s strengthened political relations with both Iraq’s central government and the regional administration on our exports,” Talay Ozturk, general manager of Karmod’s Plastics Group, was quoted as saying.

Despite Iraq’s geographical proximity, Ozturk noted that the company had not previously experienced significant export volumes to the country.

“However, over the past two months, we have successfully exported stainless chrome steel water tanks, as well as polyethylene and polyester water storage tanks to Iraq,” Ozturk said.

He revealed that Karmod’s exports to Iraq in the past two months included water storage tanks with a combined capacity of 835 tons.

“The demand for drinking and utility water storage solutions from Iraq continues to grow significantly,” he added.

Commenting on the company’s production range, Ozturk said, “We manufacture liquid storage tanks for both individual and industrial use. Our long-lasting storage tanks, which ensure food safety, are widely preferred for water storage. The high-strength, lightweight material and ease of maintenance further boost interest in our products. The stainless steel water tanks we produced for a luxury housing project in Baghdad each have a capacity of 10,000 liters, with a total of 22 units shipped.”

Ozturk noted that Karmod’s water storage tanks are already being utilized in various regions of Iraq.

“In the past two months, we produced and delivered 17 polyethylene water tanks with a total capacity of 225,000 liters to Erbil. Additionally, we sent 15 special underground polyester water storage tanks to Sulaymaniyah, comprising 12 units with a capacity of 20 tons each and 3 units with a capacity of 50 tons each, totaling 390,000 liters,” he said.
