Karmod launches 3rd prefabricated steel housing project in Portugal

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish prefabricated housing company Karmod has begun on-site installation of light steel prefabricated homes in Portugal, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Marking its third housing project in Portugal in the past two years, the project in Lisbon also contributes the company’s expansion in European markets.

“Our light steel housing model, known for safety and reduced labor requirements, has attracted strong interest in Europe,” said Karmod Prefabricated General Manager Ugur Kadir.

“We have completed projects in 12 European countries, including Germany, France, the UK and Spain. In addition to Portugal, we are also carrying out housing projects in Greece and Bulgaria,” he added.

Kadir said the company manufactures homes in its modern facilities and carries out on-site assembly with a single expert team, eliminating the need for multiple contractors.

“Our pre-manufactured system significantly lowers construction costs while meeting European safety and insulation standards,” Kadir said.

The latest project in Lisbon includes the installation of five detached homes, each designed as a two-bedroom, 96-square-meter unit, according to the company.
