Karmod provides accommodation solution for Türkiye’s tourism sector

Staff accommodation significant problem in touristic areas where rents are high, says company manager

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish building manufacturer Karmod is extending helping hand to Turkish tourism sector by constructing lodgings for hotel staff.

The company has so far constructed lodgings in four different tourism regions of Antalya, one of Türkiye’s famous tourist destinations.

Noting that staff accommodation is one of the most significant issues in the tourism sector, Karmod General Manager Abdullah Yuceer said the company provides quick solutions for this problem.

"High rental prices make it almost impossible for staff to find accommodation. Especially five-star hotels must produce solutions to the accommodation problem to retain qualified staff. In this regard, we have completed lodging projects for four different hotels over the past year,” he said.

Yuceer said the projects not only provide housing opportunities, but also social facilities.

"We do not just prepare lodging for hotel employees, we also include social facilities such as lounges and activity rooms in the project,” he said, adding that cafeteria for the staff is also among these facilities.

“The lodgings are designed to accommodate single staff members or families as needed. The most common apartment types are studios and one-bedroom units, while two-bedroom apartments are also available in some lodging projects," he said.

- Lodging projects are conducted within hotel premises

The hotel staff lodging requests mainly come from the Kemer, Belek, Manavgat, Kundu, and Alanya districts of Antalya, Yuceer said, adding: "Since accommodation is the most important issue for tourism workers, hotel managements seek to solve this problem within their facilities. The high cost of land and real estate leads tourism businesses to produce solutions within their premises.”
