Turkish manufacturing company Karmod exported plastic traffic safety barriers to Moldova, according to a company statement on Friday.
The barriers, which have been sent to the capital Chisinau, will be employed to regulate traffic flow in the city center.
Talay Ozturk, general manager of Karmod Plastic Group, said the barriers are manufactured to meet international road standards.
He highlighted the benefits of using polyethylene, a lightweight material, in traffic management and area boundary applications.
“Our plastic road barriers, produced in accordance with international standards, leverage the lightweight properties of polyethylene. This material makes traffic lane guidance practical and allows for rapid road traffic arrangements using an interlocking mobile connection system,” Ozturk said.
He added that the polyethylene barriers are easy to relocate without heavy machinery and can be stabilized by filling an internal reservoir with water. These barriers are also impact-resistant and long-lasting.
Ozturk noted the advantages in transportation and storage provided by the barriers’ stacking features. “Karmod produces the barriers in two lengths: 1 meter and 1.5 meters. A single truck can transport enough 1-meter barriers to cover 700 meters of road. The shipment to Chisinau included an equal number of red and white barriers, which will be used by the police department for traffic management,” he added.
