Kazakhstan, Lithuania discuss bilateral ties, cooperation
Trade, economic and investment cooperation particularly addressed, says press service of Kazakh president

ISTANBUL (AA) – Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev early Wednesday discussed bilateral ties and cooperation with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis who arrived in Astana on an official visit.
“The interlocutors discussed the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Lithuanian relations, paying special attention to strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as interaction within international organizations,” said a statement from the Kazakh president’s press service.
Tokayev, who called Lithuania “a priority partner of our country in the Baltic region and the EU,” emphasized the need to intensify intergovernmental cooperation and expand interaction between business circles in the two countries, namely in the fields of transport and logistics, and construction and manufacturing, during the meeting with Landsbergis.
For his part, Landsbergis said Lithuania considers Kazakhstan as “a leading trade and economic partner in Central Asia,” the statement said.
“During the meeting, there was also an exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda,” it concluded.
