Kenya's novel coronavirus cases jump to 3,727 on Monday after registering 133 new infections

NAIROBI, Kenya (AA) - Four staffers working at the State House in the Kenyan capital Nairobi have tested positive for COVID-19, while President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family are safe, the presidency said on Monday.
Kanze Dena, State House spokesperson, said the tests were part of proactive measures implemented to contain the spread of the pandemic, adding that the staff are regularly tested for the disease.
“The tests are conducted on all staff including his excellency the president and members of his family,” Dena said.
“Four people were found to have contracted the disease. The infected officers were admitted to the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital in Kiambu County for treatment,” she added.
The presidency said to strengthen COVID-19 containment measures, extra access protocols for State House staff residing outside the compound and visitors have been rolled out.
Kenya's COVID-19 cases jumped to 3,727 cases on Monday after registering 133 new cases. The country currently has 1,286 total recoveries and 104 deaths from the pandemic.
