LONDON (AA) - King Charles unveiled his personal playlist Friday, offering a glimpse into the music that brings the British monarch joy.
The playlist, which spans genres from reggae and Afrobeats to contemporary pop, showcases a range of musical influences that have shaped the monarch's life.
The king’s eclectic mix includes tracks by some of the world’s most beloved artists, including legendary Jamaican musician Bob Marley, pop icon Kylie Minogue and trailblazing performer Grace Jones.
The royal playlist also features Nigerian-American singer-songwriter Davido and the recent Brit Award winner Raye, adding a modern touch.
The king shared these tracks as part of his new Apple Music radio show, The King's Music Room, which was recorded in his office at Buckingham Palace.
The show provides the monarch a platform to share anecdotes about his encounters with artists and discuss how music has played a vital role in his life.
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me,” he says in a trailer for the show. “Perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy.”
He adds that the playlist forms the soundtrack to many of his happiest moments and has been a source of comfort during difficult times.
The show will premiere on Apple Music 1 on March 10.
