By Talha Ozturk

BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Kosovo police arrested Turkish citizen Ugur Toksoy in Prizren city on Friday for suspected links with the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), according to a police statement released Saturday.

In a statement, police said an international arrest warrant had been out for Toksoy over his alleged FETO ties.

Prizren Special Prosecution Office General Prosecutor Admir Shala told Anadolu Agency the suspect was sent to capital Pristina after his arrest.

Public Prosecutor Ali Rexha said Toksoy would stay under detention for 40 days and a court is expected to later decide whether he would be extradited to Turkey.

FETO operates a total of 40 schools in the region including 15 institutions in Bosnia, 12 in Albania, seven in Macedonia, five in Kosovo and one in Serbia.

Turkey's government has repeatedly said the deadly July 15 defeated coup, which martyred 250 people and injured nearly 2,200 others, was organized by Fetullah Gulen and his FETO network.
