ISTANBUL (AA) – The Kremlin has said the West is trying to be “friends” with some countries in order to drive Russia out of certain regions.
“The collective West has its own accents (narratives). They, as a rule, are not friends for their own sake. They are trying to be friends (with some countries), pushing Russia out of certain regions,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Rossiya-1 TV channel, a fragment of which was shared on Sunday.
Moscow does not believe this policy has any prospects, Peskov said, adding that they know this policy and are accustomed to it.
“We also learned how to build our connections in such a way as to hedge against these risks,” he added.
