Kuwait's new government takes constitutional oath before country's emir

In April, Kuwaiti emir appointed Sheikh Ahmad as prime minister, dissolved parliament last Friday

ISTANBUL (AA) - The new Kuwaiti government on Wednesday took the constitutional oath before the country's Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

According to the state-run news agency KUNA, the new government headed by Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah consists of 13 ministers, all of whom have taken the constitutional oath.

"We are in a new phase of reforms, and serious actions must be taken," the emir said.

He also urged the government to accelerate the implementation of the long-awaited strategic development projects and to address needed issues.

In April, the country's emir appointed Sheikh Ahmad as the prime minister, and dissolved the parliament last Friday.
