ISTANBUL (AA) - Teams in the US state of Maryland have recovered the sixth and last victim of the March 26 collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore after it was struck by a cargo ship.

Maryland State Police, along with officers from the Maryland Transportation Authority Police and the FBI, went to the site on Tuesday and found the body of a sixth construction worker: Jose Mynor Lopez, age 37, of Baltimore, Maryland.

Col. Roland L. Butler, Jr., superintendent of the Maryland State Police, said in a statement: "With heavy hearts, today marks a significant milestone in our recovery efforts and providing closure to the loved ones of the six workers who lost their lives in this tragic event.”

"As we mourn with the families, we honor the memory of Jose Mynor Lopez, Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, Carlos Daniel Hernandez Estrella, and Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez," he added, mentioning members of a work crew who died when the bridge collapsed.

Last week, the Maryland Department of Transportation reported that the repair expenses will range from $1.7 billion to $1.9 billion, and they expect the rebuilding process to take a little over four years, The Hill reported.

Following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge due to the cargo ship collision, maritime traffic at the Port of Baltimore was suspended until further notice.

A temporary channel was opened for commercially essential and work vessels cleaning up the collapsed bridge, which was a major traffic artery through the city.
