Late sex offender Epstein claimed he could 'take down' Trump in newly released files
More than 20,000 pages of documents show Epstein said Trump 'knew about the girls'; White House dismisses release as Democratic 'smear'

ISTANBUL (AA) - The US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released more than 20,000 pages of documents from late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's estate, including emails where he claimed he had damaging information about President Donald Trump.
"I am the one able to take him down," Epstein wrote in a 2018 email, which was part of the release Wednesday.
In a 2018 email to Kathryn Ruemmler, a White House counsel under former President Barack Obama, Epstein wrote: "I know how dirty Donald is." It discussed potential scandals involving Trump.
Among the most significant revelations was when Epstein claimed Trump "knew about the girls."
In other communications, Epstein said he had photos of Trump with girls in bikinis in his kitchen and referenced "a girlfriend that, after two years, I gave to Donald."
In December 2018, Epstein emailed Ruemmler to warn about Trump's behavior, writing that treating Trump like a mafia ignores "the fact that he has great dangerous power."
The documents show Epstein monitoring Trump's business dealings. In April and May 2011, Epstein received updates about Trump selling a private plane, with one message stating Trump's aircraft sold for $2.7 million.
In March 2018, Epstein shared an article, “How Close Is Donald Trump to a Psychiatric Breakdown?” with Ruemmler, who replied that it was "not confidence inspiring." Epstein responded: "but – accurate."
The documents include communications with other prominent figures. In March 2011, Epstein reached out to Prince Andrew as British media was focused on his involvement in the scandal, asking: "you ok?"
In June 2019, Epstein wrote to Steve Bannon, Trump's former White House chief strategist: "prince andrew and trump today.. Tooo funny."
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt dismissed the document release Wednesday as a Democratic attempt to "smear President Trump," calling them "nothing more than bad-faith efforts."
Trump accused Democrats on his social media platform Truth Social of raising "the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again" to deflect from their performance on the government shutdown and other issues.
The release came after Democratic Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, whose signature brought a discharge petition to 218 votes, was sworn in, compelling a House vote on releasing all remaining Epstein files.
Epstein died by suicide in federal custody in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking and conspiracy charges.
