Latin American countries report latest COVID-19 situation
Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile register more COVID-19 cases, deaths

BOGOTA, Colombia (AA) - Countries across Latin America have reported new COVID-19 cases and fatalities, according to official data announced late Tuesday.
- Brazil
At least 297 more people lost their lives in Brazil, and 23,545 people were infected over the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures of the country's Health Ministry.
The death toll in the country has risen to 649,630, and the total number of cases has exceeded 28.8 million.
- Mexico
A total of 13,115 new COVID-19 cases and 382 fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours in Mexico, according to the Health Ministry.
The country of 126 million people has so far recorded more than 5.32 million cases, 318,531 deaths, and over 5.52 million recoveries.
- Colombia
Colombia’s Health Ministry reported 87 more fatalities from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 138,854.
The country's caseload surpassed 6 million, including 1,218 new infections, with more than 5.89 million recoveries.
- Argentina
According to data by Argentina's Health Ministry, 3,520 new infections brought the total number of cases to over 8.9 million.
After 105 patients died over the past day, the countrywide death toll has risen to 126,257. In the country with a population of nearly 45 million people, more than 8.68 million recoveries have been reported so far.
- Chile
Over the past day, Chile reported 28 deaths related to COVID-19, pushing the death toll to 42,381, the country's Health Ministry said.
The number of infections rose by 13,929, raising the total number of cases to over 3 million. More than 2.9 million people have recovered so far.
