Latin American countries report new COVID-19 cases, fatalities
Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, and Bolivia struggle against pandemic

BOGOTA, Colombia (AA) – Countries across Latin America have reported new COVID-19 infections and fatalities, according to official data announced late Monday.
- Brazil
At least 259 people in Brazil lost their lives over the last 24 hours, raising the virus-related death toll to 623,309, the country’s Health Ministry data showed.
With 83,340 more people testing positive, the total number of cases topped 24.1 million.
- Mexico
According to the Health Ministry, Mexico’s COVID-19 case tally surged by 17,938, while fatalities increased by 118 over the past day.
The country of some 126 million people has so far recorded more than 4.68 million cases, 303,301 deaths, and over 3.76 million recoveries.
- Colombia
Colombia’s Health Ministry reported 237 more fatalities from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the country’s death toll to 132,477.
The total number of cases surpassed 5.76 million, including 21,219 new infections, while the number of recoveries rose to over 5.47 million.
- Argentina
Some 78,121 new infections raised Argentina’s case tally to over 7.94 million, according to the Health Ministry data.
The nationwide death toll rose to 119,444 as 276 patients died over the past day.
More than 6.98 million recoveries have so far been reported.
- Peru
Peru reported 54 fatalities over the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 204,404, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
The number of coronavirus cases in the country rose by 10,931 to reach over 2.97 million. More than 2.9 million people have recovered from the virus.
- Chile
Over the past day, Chile reported 23 deaths related to COVID-19, pushing the death toll to 39,535, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
The number of infections rose by 14,780, raising the total number of cases to more than 1.98 million. More than 1.87 million people have recovered so far.
- Bolivia
According to Bolivia’s Health Ministry data, 41 more patients died from COVID-19 over the last day, pushing the death toll to 20,671.
The country reported 6,974 new cases, raising the total number of infections to 820,583, while recoveries reached 654,355.
