BEIRUT (AA) - Lebanon’s Amal Movement said Monday that three of its members had been killed in clashes with Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
In a statement, the Hezbollah-allied group said that the three had lost their lives “while fulfilling their national duty to defend Lebanon and the south," without providing any further details.
The new fatalities brought to six the number of the group’s members killed in clashes with Israeli forces since October.
Tension has escalated along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah since early October, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
At least 30 civilians, including three journalists and three children, and 182 Hezbollah members have since been killed in southern Lebanon, according to local media.
The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 that has since killed at least 27,478 people and injured 66,835 others.
