Libya, Chad sign agreement on repatriation of Chadian nationals
Agreement aims to establish procedures for identification, counting, determination of status of Chadian citizens residing in Libyan territory through cooperation between two countries

TRIPOLI, Libya (AA) – Libyan Interior Minister Emad Al-Trabelsi and Chad's Public Security and Immigration Minister Mahamat Charfadine Margui signed an agreement Wednesday on the repatriation of Chadian nationals living in Libya.
Libya’s Government of National Unity said that Margui met with Trabelsi within the framework of the Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum.
The agreement aims to establish procedures for the identification, counting and determination of the status of Chadian citizens residing in Libyan territory through cooperation between the two countries.
According to the agreement, Chadian citizens wishing to voluntarily return to their country will benefit from logistical and financial assistance from the governments of Libya and Chad.
It was also noted that various programs will be implemented to facilitate their integration into Chad.
The Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum, held in the Libyan capital Tripoli, was attended by Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela and Tunisian Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, as well as numerous ministers and officials from African and European countries.
