ISTANBUL (AA) - Transavia France, the low-cost airline of the Air France-KLM Group, has launched scheduled flights between Paris and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (SAW) International Airport.
According to a Monday statement from ISG, Transavia France, which has been operating since 2007, will offer daily flights to and from Paris.
The flights, which offer an economical travel option between Orly (ORY), the closest airport to central Paris, and Sabiha Gokcen Airport, began on Oct. 26.
The Paris-Istanbul flight operating on Monday was greeted on the runway apron with a traditional water salute.
The new route between Paris Orly and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen aims to help strengthen tourism and trade between France and Türkiye and to create an easier and more accessible connection between the two countries.
The route is expected to have sustainable ridership potential during the year due to visits by family and relatives from the large Turkish population living in Paris and its surroundings.
