Lufthansa prolongs Israel flight suspension amid Middle East tensions
German flag carrier says flights to Tel Aviv suspended until Nov. 25 due to ongoing crisis in Middle East

BERLIN (AA) - German airline Lufthansa on Monday extended the suspension of flights to Israel until Nov. 25 due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
According to a company statement, the decision affects all airlines within the Lufthansa Group, including Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian, and Brussels airlines.
The company said passengers affected by these suspensions will be offered the option to rebook their flights to a later date, or receive a full refund of their ticket price.
Lufthansa had announced last week that it was suspending its flights to Tel Aviv until Nov. 10, and would be adjusting its flight schedules as circumstances evolve. Germany’s flag carrier already canceled flights to Tehran until Jan. 31, 2025, and to Beirut until Feb. 28, 2025.
The extended suspensions reflect the airline's ongoing concerns about safety and operational feasibility in the Middle East amid escalating conflicts.
Israel attacked military targets in Iran on Saturday night in response to an Iranian missile attack in early October. Tehran has warned that this attack would have "harsh consequences."
