Major Asian stock markets up at Monday's close

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 gains 0.52%, China's Shanghai Stock Exchange rises 0.72%

ANKARA (AA) - Major Asian stock markets were higher at Monday's close.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, rose 0.21% to 3,424.49 points.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 gained 0.52% to close at 28,188.15 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, was slightly up 0.04% to 20,409.18 points.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange rose 0.72% to close at 3,296.40 points on Monday.

The Singapore index rose 0.68% to end the day at 3,281.08 points, while India's Sensex benchmark hiked 0.19% to close at 59,106.44.
