Malaysian, Singaporean premiers meet, vow to strengthen ties
Lawrence Wong visits Malaysia, a day after paying 1st overseas trip to Brunei as prime minister of Singapore

ISTANBUL (AA) - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong met on Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur, woving to strengthen ties.
This comes during Wong's first working visit to Malaysia as Singapore's chief executive.
"We discussed efforts to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries and exchanged views on global issues of mutual interest," Anwar wrote on X after the meeting.
Anwar and Wong also discssed issues of water and maritime boundary agreement between the two Southeast Asian nations.
Wong was elected as prime minister last month and he paid his first overseas trip to Brunei before flying to Malaysia. Anwar was the first foreign leader to congratulate Wong.
In Kuala Lumpur, Wong also met deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof.
"Our discussions were friendly and constructive, focusing on the strengthening of bilateral ties. As one of Malaysia’s largest and closest trading partners, Singapore plays a crucial role in our economic landscape," Fadillah said on X.
