Man sets himself on fire outside of New York courthouse as Trump stands trial

WASHINGTON (AA) - A man has set himself ablaze in a park near the Manhattan courthouse where former President Donald Trump is standing trial on multiple charges of falsifying business records.

Bystander video posted to social media appears to show the individual standing on his knees with his hands on his head as flames engulf his body. The person then collapses to the ground before letting out a blood-curdling scream. Police rushed to the scene as one person attempted to use a fire extinguisher to put out the inferno.

The individual's identity and their condition remain unknown.
