Crimean Tatar singer Jamala sings famous 1944 song during vigil

LONDON (AA) - Hundreds of people on Thursday hold a vigil in London to show support for Ukraine on the eve of the 1st anniversary of Russia's war.
To show solidarity with Ukraine, large crowds gathered at London's iconic Trafalgar square, marking the anniversary of the war.
Carrying their flags many Ukrainians and supporters attended the vigil held in association with the US Embassy and the Ukrainian Embassy in London.
During the gathering, Crimean Tatar singer Jamala also made a speech and sang songs at the stage, including her famous 1944 song.
Jamala won the 61st Eurovision Song Contest in May with her song "1944", which refers to the deportation of the Crimean Tatars under Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.
The event ended with singing of Ukraine's national anthem.
Meanwhile, UK on Friday to hold a minute of silence, to mark the anniversary of the war in Ukrine.
