Mexico's consumer inflation falls 0.19% in May
Consumer prices, however, rise 4.69% on annual basis

ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's consumer inflation declined 0.19% in May, compared to the previous month, according to figures released Friday.
Consumer prices in the North American country rose only 0.2% in April on a monthly basis, slowing down from a gain of 0.29% in March.
Monthly, prices of agricultural products grew 0.67%, but prices of energy and tariffs authorized by the government fell 3%, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography said in a statement.
On an annual basis, however, the consumer price index increased by 4.69% in May, compared to the same month of 2023.
That figure showed a slight increase of 4.65% in April, which followed March's gain of 4.42%.
