Mexico's unemployment rate falls to 2.4% in March
97.6% of people employed among economically active population, according to National Institute of Statistics and Geography

ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's unemployment rate decreased to 2.4% in March on an unadjusted seasonal basis, according to data from the country’s statistical institute Thursday.
The rate is lower than the market estimate of 2.8%, while it is a decline from 2.7% in February.
The economically active population was 60.5 million people in March, which was 0.5 million higher than February, and 2.1 million more than March 2022, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) figures.
In March, a total of 59 million people, or 97.6%, were employed among the economically active population. This was 2.4 million more compared to the same month of 2022.
The unemployed population was 1.4 million people in March, the figures showed.
In March, at a monthly rate and with seasonally adjusted figures, the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 2.8%, according to INEGI.
