Pilot seriously injured when aircraft crashes near Albuquerque International Sunport

WASHINGTON (AA) – An military aircraft crashed and caught fire near Albuquerque International Sunport in New Mexico, leaving the pilot seriously injured, airport officials said Tuesday.
“A military aircraft has crashed off of the airfield on the southside of the Sunport. One soul aboard, pilot is conscious and being transported. Flight operations have resumed, but check with your airline for flight status,” the airport wrote on X.
Crews responded to the crash, while the pilot ejected safely and was taken to the hospital, local outlet KOB4 reported.
Footage captured at the crash site seemed to depict a military fighter aircraft, although the specific model of the plane has not been officially confirmed.
According to KOB4, Lockheed Martin confirmed that an F-35B crashed off the airfield on the south side of the airport after a refueling stop at Kirtland Air Force Base.
