Coronavirus death toll reaches 171 in Morocco, 24 in Lebanon
RABAT, Morocco BEIRUT, Lebanon (AA) - The health authorities in Morocco and Lebanon announced on Friday new coronavirus infections.
In Morocco, the Ministry of Health said that the coronavirus death toll rose to 171 deaths after a new fatality.
The ministry added that the country’s total infections have reached 4,529 after 106 new cases were found over the last 24 hours.
It said 71 more patients recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 1,055.
In Lebanon, the Health Ministry said in its daily briefing on coronavirus updates that four new cases were reported, bringing the country’s tally to 729.
The ministry said the death toll stood at 24 deaths while the recovered cases have risen to 192.
Since first appearing in Wuhan, China last December, the novel coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, has spread to at least 187 countries and regions, with the US and Europe the hardest-hit areas.
Over 3.27 million cases have been reported worldwide, with the death toll surpassing 233,700 and more than 1.02 million recoveries, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University in the US.
