Multinational naval exercise ends in Pakistan
60 countries, including Turkiye, participated in 5-day drill

KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) – A multinational naval exercise hosted by the Pakistan Navy ended on Tuesday with the formation of local and foreign warships in the Northern Arabian Sea.
Billed as AMAN (peace) 2025, the five-day drill, which began last week, was participated in by navies from 60 countries, including Turkiye, with their warships, aircraft, marines, special operation forces and observers, said a statement from the navy.
The concluding ceremony also included a fleet review.
Addressing the ceremony, Pakistan’s army chief Gen. Asim Munir reaffirmed Islamabad’s resolve to promote peace, and emphasized that the exercise – a biennial affair - has become a platform for connecting regions “for a common cause of secure seas for a prosperous future.”
He thanked the participating regional and extra-regional navies for displaying their commitment to collaborative maritime security.
Naval Chief Adm. Naveed Ashraf, and other senior officials, and foreign diplomats also attended the ceremony.
- Turkiye, Pakistan ink cooperation protocol
A cooperation protocol was also signed between Ankara University National Research Center for Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) and Pakistan National Maritime Institute (NIMA) in the port city of Karachi.
According to a DEHUKAM statement, the center’s director, Mustafa Baskara, NIMA President Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed, academics and high-level officials from both sides attended the signing ceremony.
The protocol aims to strengthen academic and scientific ties between Ankara and Islamabad in the field of maritime to carry out joint studies on issues such as the protection of the marine environment, maritime security and the blue economy.
