Multiple victims trapped in gold mine landslide in eastern Türkiye
At least 9 workers trapped in landslide in Erzincan province, according to Mayor Bekir Aksun

ERZINCAN, Türkiye (AA) - A landslide occurred Tuesday in a dump leaching area of a gold mine in eastern Türkiye.
A large number of search and rescue teams were dispatched to the Ilic district of Erzincan province and have commenced operations.
Governor Hamza Aydogdu visited the site to inspect and get information from the teams.
Aydogdu told Anadolu that he was monitoring operations in the region.
"There are people trapped under the soil, the exact number is not clear. Search and rescue operations have begun," he said.
Mayor Bekir Aksun said according to initial assessments it appears that there are around nine people trapped under the soil.
