Muslims celebrate Eid Al-Adha in central London
Families celebrate holiday, attend workshops and activities, listen to live performances from main stage

LONDON (AA) - Londoners celebrated the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday Sunday in the city's famous Trafalgar Square with a variety of activities and live performances.
The "Eid on the Square" event brought many people together on the third day of one of Islam's holiest festivals.
The free, family-friendly festival marked Eid al-Adha for the first time in Trafalgar Square, welcoming a variety of culture, food, entertainment and Islamic-inspired art.
During the event, the main stage featured both traditional and contemporary performances, including Nasheed artist Mesut Kurtis, Chand Ali Khan Qawwal & Group, and the Indonesian Angklung Ensemble feat Desra Percaya.
There were also various workshops including drumming, calligraphy and poetry as well as an interactive tent blending comedy, music and creative writing.
Organized by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, prayer tents for men and women were also launched in the area.
Speaking at the celebration, Khan expressed his pleasure at celebrating "one of the most wonderful festivals in the world" in the square, bringing both Muslims and non-Muslims from all different backgrounds together.
During his address, he spoke on the suffering taking place in Gaza, the West Bank and Sudan and across the globe.
