ARMENIA, Colombia (AA) - The National Coffee Park, located in the Colombian city of Armenia, renowned for its coffee plantations, continues to be one of the most popular tourist destinations.

The national park, designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 2011, attracts around 1 million visitors annually.

Homer Perez Osorio, the Public Relations officer of the National Coffee Park, told Anadolu that the park provides visitors with a natural environment and strives to create unforgettable memories for them.

"Coffee is one of the most important export items of Colombia. We bring together the labor of more than 600,000 coffee producers, our aim is to fight for the survival of the traditional coffee culture and the historical heritage left to us by future generations,” he said.

Perez emphasized that Colombian coffee is world-famous, and he added, "Those who come to visit this country should definitely taste and buy our coffee, which is the most valuable treasure of this land. We produce a coffee brand unique to these lands, climate and geography".

There is also a museum within the park that offers visitors detailed information on coffee production and its journey to consumers. The museum is operated by the non-profit coffee federation.
