New home sales in US jump 9.6% in March

ISTANBUL (AA) - New home sales in the US jumped 9.6% in March, compared to the previous month, according to a report Tuesday by the Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Sales of new single‐family homes in February were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 683,000, said the report.

New home sales, which show the number of new single-family homes sold, were estimated to come in at 630,000 last month. The figure for February was revised down to 623,000, from 640,000.

New home sales in March, however, are 3.4% below the same month last year, when they stood at 707,000.

The median sales price for new houses in March 2023 was $449,800, while the average price was $562,400.
