Nigeria declares national mourning after church attack
Dozens of worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church killed in attack by yet-to-be-identified gunmen

ABUJA, Nigeria (AA) - Nigeria on Monday declared seven days of national mourning after a weekend church attack left dozens of people dead.
On Sunday, unidentified gunmen opened fire on worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ondo state, southwestern Nigeria, leaving at least 50 people killed, according to a doctor who wished to remain anonymous.
In a visit to injured people receiving treatment at hospital, Ondo Governor Rotimi Akeredolu told reporters that all flags in the state would fly half-mast for the next seven days following the attack which he called the “most tragic and horrific” event.
