ANKARA (AA) - Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday said he is certain that explosions in Poland were not caused by a Ukrainian missile, local media reported.
"I have no doubt that it was not our missile," Zelenskyy said. "We must participate in the investigation. I want us to be fair and if it was the use of our air defense, then I want this evidence."
Polish authorities reported that a missile landed in the village of Przewodow, near the border with Ukraine, late Tuesday, killing two people.
The incident sparked fears of an escalation, but NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said initial analysis suggested it was “likely caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile fired to defend Ukrainian territory.”
Earlier, US President Joe Biden also said it was unlikely that the missile was fired by Russia, while according to Polish President Andrzej Duda there was a high probability it was a missile of Ukrainian air defense.
Moscow, meanwhile, has also rejected claims that it was a Russian missile.
