No place for 'war fatigue,' Lithuanian president says on war in Ukraine
Ukrainian defeat in war with Russia would worsen security situation across EU, says Gitanas Nauseda

ATHENS (AA) — In reference to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Lithuania's president on Thursday urged against "war fatigue" in support for Kyiv against Moscow.
“We have to keep and be consistent. We have no right for war fatigue,” said Gitanas Nauseda as he arrived for the European Council summit in Brussels.
“This is very important, especially now in this critical stage of the war, to stay united, not to split our foreign policy because, otherwise, it will be the policy of 27 members. We have no right to do that,” he said, adding that Ukraine’s defeat would worsen the security situation across the EU.
On talks earlier this month between EU-member Hungary's Prime Minister Victor Orban and Russian President Vladimir Putin in China, Nauseda said the meeting sent a "very wrong message to everybody, first to the international community and also to Ukraine."
"It's really more than strange to see that we start to flirt with the regime which is committing very cruel atrocities in the territory of Ukraine," he said.
As to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he maintained that Tel Aviv had the right to defend itself, but should do so without violating international humanitarian law.
