There were no survivors after a light aircraft crashed in Gundaroo, a small town north of Australian capital Canberra, local media reported on Friday, citing police.
New South Wales Police said the plane had crashed and caught alight and they are still confirming how many people were on board at the time, according to ABC News.
The plane apparently took off from Canberra Airport and crashed at Gundaroo.
"When police arrived with RFS services there was a small grass fire and obviously a catastrophic crash of a small light aircraft," the broadcaster quoted NSW Police Superintendent Cath Bradbury as saying.
"The RFS extinguished the plane — unfortunately there are no survivors," said Bradbury, adding police are still investigating that who and how many people were in the plane.
