Northern Cyprus' president arrives in Azerbaijan for summit of Turkic states

Ersin Tatar comes to Baku at invitation of Azerbaijan's president to attend informal summit of Organization of Turkic States leaders

BAKU, Azerbaijan (AA) - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Ersin Tatar arrived in Azerbaijan on Thursday to attend an informal summit of heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Tatar was received at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci, the representative of the TRNC in Baku, Ufuk Turganer, and representatives of Turkish institutions and organizations.

Tatar, who came to Azerbaijan's capital Baku at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, will attend the informal summit of OTS leaders in Shusha.

The TRNC is an observer state of the Organization of Turkic States.

The OTS was established in 2009 as an intergovernmental organization to promote comprehensive cooperation among Turkic states.
