Over 8,700 companies established in Türkiye in May

Firms established down 13% year-on-year in May, while it rises 15.5% compared to April

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye saw more than 8,760 newly launched companies in May.

This figure of 8,765 was down 13% on a yearly basis, from 10,072 in the same month last year, Türkiye's Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) said on Friday.

The number of liquidated companies in May totaled 2,197, up 15.8% year-on-year.

On a monthly basis, the number of companies established in Türkiye rose 15.5% in May from April's 7,590.

In the same period, the number of liquidated companies climbed 27.2% from April's 1,727.

In the January-May period of 2025, the number of newly established firms amounted to 44,896, down 2.6% compared to the same period of 2024.

The number of liquidated companies reached 11,360 in the first five months of the year, up 9.4% on an annual basis.

In May, 568 companies with foreign partners were established, including 368 with Turkish partners, 21 with Chinese partners, and 14 with partners from Turkmenistan.
