Pakistan army claims it killed 7 ‘militants’ on Afghanistan border
Islamabad urges Kabul to ensure ‘effective’ border management

KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - Pakistan claimed Wednesday that it killed seven suspected militants allegedly trying to infiltrate its territory from neighboring Afghanistan.
The army said that the movement of the suspected terrorists was detected Tuesday by security forces in the North Waziristan tribal district.
“The infiltrators were surrounded, effectively engaged and after an intense fire exchange, all seven territories were sent to hell,” it said in a statement.
A “large” quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the slain militants, it added.
Pakistan said it has consistently been asking the Interim Afghan government to ensure “effective border management on their side of the border.”
“The Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan,” it said.
Pakistan has seen a surge in terror attacks since the Taliban stormed back into power in Kabul in August 2022.
Islamabad accuses Kabul of not taking enough action against the “Afghanistan-based” militants who are involved in attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians.
Afghanistan denies the allegation.
