Military also notes 'extremely negative fallout of the conflict and the potential to spill over in the wider region'

KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - Pakistan Army on Wednesday reiterated "unequivocal" support for the people of Gaza, where Israel has killed nearly 27,000 people, noting the "extremely negative fallout of the conflict and the potential to spill over in the wider region."
The support was extended during a corps commander meeting at the army's headquarters in the northeastern garrison city of Rawalpindi with army chief Gen. Asim Munir in the chair, said a military statement.
"The immediate need for a permanent ceasefire and enduring solution to the Palestinian question was unanimously recognized," the press release added.
Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, since a cross-border offensive by Hamas on Oct. 7 said to have killed 1,200 Israelis, has also led to mass displacement and destruction, and led to conditions for a famine. The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to refrain from genocidal acts in the coastal territory.
The commanders were also briefed on the alleged Indian campaign of "extra-territorial and extra-judicial killings of Pakistani citizens."
Last week, Islamabad accused New Delhi of being involved in the killing of two Pakistanis in Pakistan last year.
India rejected the charge, calling it Islamabad’s “latest attempt at peddling false and malicious anti-India propaganda.”
