Pakistan, Belarus sign agreements across various sectors

ISLAMABAD (AA) - Pakistan and Belarus on Tuesday signed several agreements in different sectors including trade, economy, environment, science and technology.
The agreements were signed during a ceremony held at the Pakistani Prime Minister's house in the capital Islamabad, where Premier Shehbaz Sharif and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and agreements.
A total of 15 MoUs and agreements were signed to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including trade, electronic commerce cooperation, science and technology, customs, environmental protection, emergency situations, vocational training, health, and halal trade.
An extradition treaty was also signed between the two countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sharif welcomed Lukashenko and said the two sides have agreed to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, defense, and technology.
"Today, the two side delegations will sit together and finalize a road map in concrete terms to how we can enhance cooperation in all sectors," Sharif said.
For his part, Lukashenko said that Minsk is ready to provide technology to Islamabad.
"Belarus has the technologies to meet the needs of Pakistan, maybe not just today, but maybe even tomorrow. So we're ready to share our technologies with (Pakistan),” he said.
Earlier, the two leaders also held bilateral talks.
On Monday, Lukashenko began his three-day visit to Islamabad along with a high-level delegation.
