Gaza belongs to Palestinians, says Foreign Ministry spokesman

ISLAMABAD (AA) - Pakistan on Thursday opposed US President Donald Trump's proposal to relocate Palestinians outside Gaza, calling it "troubling and unjust."
Foreign Ministry spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan said the Palestinian land belongs to its people.
"Proposal to displace Palestinian people is troubling and unjust," Khan told reporters in Islamabad, responding to a question on Trump's recent proposal to relocate Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan.
The spokesman reiterated Islamabad's support for a "just, comprehensive, and durable" solution to the Palestinian issue, leading to the establishment of a sovereign state of Palestine based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
Last weekend, Trump called to "just clean out" Gaza and resettle Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan, describing the enclave as a "demolition site." Egypt and Jordan have publicly opposed the plan.
Israel has killed more than 47,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks and turned the territory into a wasteland of ruins and rubble, which could take years to rebuild.
