ISTANBUL (AA) - Pakistan on Thursday summoned the Norwegian ambassador over his "unwarranted attendance" at a court proceeding in Islamabad, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
The act constitutes "a breach of diplomatic protocol and relevant international law," it said.
The actions of Ambassador Per Albert Ilsaas "amount to interference in the internal affairs of the country," it said, adding that the Norwegian envoy was urged to "adhere to the established norms of diplomatic engagement, as outlined in the relevant articles of the Vienna Convention."
The ambassador was attending the Supreme Court hearing of lawyers Imaan Zainab Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, about a case related to controversial social media posts.
