RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - A Palestinian journalist on Tuesday was injured by Israeli army gunfire in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
According to an Anadolu correspondent, the army's snipers opened fire at a gathering of journalists in the vicinity of the government-run Khalil Salman Hospital in Jenin.
The journalist was identified as Amr Manasra who was shot by live ammunition in his leg. He was transferred to the hospital for treatment.
Earlier in the day, seven Palestinians, including a doctor and a child, were killed in an Israeli army raid on Jenin.
The ministry added that nine others were also injured, including two in serious condition.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip, where more than 35,500 people have been killed following a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023.
At least 510 Palestinians have since been killed and around 5,000 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Health Ministry.
