GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Thursday that it lost communication with the ambulance center in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip after it was stormed by the Israeli army.

“Communications cut off from the Jabalia ambulance center, northern Gaza. We received reports that Israeli forces raided the center,” it said in a statement “All crews and paramedics have been arrested, as the army took them to an unknown location, and the women remain trapped alone inside the center.”

Since the beginning of the Israeli onslaught against the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has intensified aerial and artillery bombardment on Jabalia and its refugee camp, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries.

Israeli ground forces have in recent weeks, advanced into northern Gaza, leading to intense clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters.

Since Oct. 7, the Israeli army has been waging a destructive war on Gaza, resulting in 20,000 Palestinian deaths and 52,600 injuries, mostly among children and women.

The conflict has also caused extensive damage to infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to authorities in the Gaza Strip and the UN.
