Pandemic claims additional 26 lives in Palestine

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Palestine confirmed additional 26 fatalities from the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday.

In a statement, Palestinian Health Ministry said 16 deaths were reported in the occupied West Bank and 10 in the Gaza Strip.

The ministry said 2,525 people tested positive for the virus, taking the overall tally to 131,037 cases, including 1,156 deaths, and 104,813 recoveries.

Since starting in China in late December last year, the coronavirus pandemic has spread worldwide, claiming over 1.6 million lives in 191 countries and regions, and causing more than 73.62 million infections, according to the latest figures from the US' Johns Hopkins University.
